Enhance reservation for OBCs: Verma

KATHUA, Oct 26: Vice Chairman of State Advisory Board for Development of Other Backward Classes (OBCs), Kuldeep Raj Verma today said that reservation for the OBCs is needed to be enhanced in the State.
Addressing a public meeting at Barnoti in district Kathua today, Mr Verma said there was 2 % reservation for OBCs in the State while it was 27 % in the Centre. He said the reservation for the OBCs is needed to be enhanced and he will take up the issue with the higher authorities in the State.
The people of the area strongly pleaded with the visiting vice chairman for providing 27 % reservation to this community in the State. He lauded the Government decision for increasing income limit for OBC people in issuing OBC certificate from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 4.50 lakh.
