Enhance quality of personnel, financial management system: CS

SRINAGAR, Sept 26: Chief Secretary Madhav Lal today asked Administrative Secretaries to take necessary steps to enhance and improve the quality of the personnel and financial management system in the departments.
Chairing the periodic meeting of Committee of Secretaries (CoS), Chief Secretary urged upon the concerned to speed up the pace of computerization and digitalization of accounts in case of PSUs, ensuring completion of up-to-date account statements at an earliest.
He also reviewed progress made by the Rural Development Department regarding compilation of compendium on transfer of powers to Panchayats. He called for preparing publicity material in the form of simple to understand leaflets, pictures and booklets and other user friendly formats for public awareness.
Chief Secretary also reviewed the status of departmental websites, file monitoring systems and issues related to internet connectivity in the Secretariat.
During the meeting, issues pertaining to transfer of powers to urban local bodies, service and promotion related proposals, draft skill development policy, new recruitment policy etc. were discussed with concerned administrative secretaries with directions to expedite their processing.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Finance, M. I. Khandey, Principal Secretary Planning and Development, B. B. Vyas, Principal Secretary PDD, Sudhanshu Pandey, Principal Secretary Housing and Urban Development, Suresh Kumar and other Administrative Secretaries.
