MAM College to take on PG Deptt in Inter-College Basketball final

JAMMU, Sept 26: MAM College will lock horns with Post Graduate (PG) Department, University of Jammu, in the men’s title clash of the ongoing Inter-College Basketball Tournament, organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Education, while the PG women will face Government College for Women (GCW), Parade, at Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu, tomorrow.
Earlier, in the men’s semifinal clashes, MAM college defeated Commerce College in a close contest by 3 points (40-37). Karam was the star performer for MAM College scoring 13 baskets, while Pursara scored 14 baskets for Commerce College.
In another semifinal match, PG Department got better of GGM Science College by 25 points (46-21) in an easy contest. Ranbir and Amit secured maximum points for PG Department.
Meanwhile, in the women section, PG Department thrashed GDC Kathua by a big margin of 35 points (40-5). Megha displayed brilliant performance by scoring 15 baskets, while Amarpreet scored 10 baskets. In another semifinal match, GCW Parade got walkover as both the teams  of their group  were absent.
Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu, was the chief guest and introduced with players.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Mahesh Sharma, Romesh Sharma P.T.I Campus, Jai Bharat and PD Singh.
The matches were officiated by Aman Sharma, Amarjeet Singh, Manooj Kumar, Rajinder Magotra and Nisha Sharma.
