Engineers to go on 2-day State-wide strike

Srinagar, July 23: The engineers across the State will be observing a two-day strike from Monday (July 29) to press for their demands.
The State Joint Action Committee of Engineers said that it has been left with no option but to go on strike.
Giving out a program for the two day strike, the committee said that on Monday all the engineers will go for a pen down/ tool down strike in their respective offices. On Tuesday, the engineers have been asked to assemble in engineering complex, Rajbagh.
The engineers from Jammu have been asked to assemble in engineering complex Jammu and those from Ladakh have been asked to assemble as Divisional Engineering Office.
The engineers from Valley have been asked to proceed towards Civil Secretariat, those from Jammu have been asked to proceed to the office of Divisional Commissioner, while as those from Ladakh have been asked to proceed towards the office of Divisional Commissioner.
The engineers are demanding issuance of SRO for already approved Assured Career Progression (ACP) scheme, regularization of engineers at all levels, removal of pay anomalies for junior engineers and the enhancement of fixed travel allowance for the field staff.
