Engineering students parents plea to Govt

JAMMU, July 22: The parents of engineering students studying in private engineering colleges have urged the Government to issue directions regarding payment of fee in view of the closure of the colleges for last five months now due to COVID pandemic.
In a statement issued here, today the parents of these students said that the private engineering colleges were demanding full fee and the Government should issue directives in this regard in view of closure of colleges as only online classes were conducted.
Moreover, they said that the engineering colleges affiliated with Jammu University are in a dilemma regarding their semester examinations as no circular from Jammu University has been issued till date in this regard whether UGC , directions will be followed or not.
They said that the Kashmir University has already notified, one month back, that UGC guidelines will be followed in toto and no such notification has come from JU so far with the result the students are worried.
