Engineering students in lurch

Four hundred students  from the State admitted to Suresh Gyan University of Rajasthan have been denied scholarships under PMSSS for the reason that this university is not recognized by the UGC. Many questions need to be answered.
Why did not the students and their parents confirm from concerned quarters whether the said university was recognized and eligible for admitting students who would seek scholarship under PMSSS? Why did not the Education Ministry of Rajasthan give due publicity to the fact that students seeking admission in the said university were not eligible to receive scholarship under the PMSSS? Why did the university authorities allow these students to go on without paying fees etc. for two years or more and then suddenly tell them they are not eligible for the receipt of the scholarship? Why did not the Education Department of J&K State notify which universities/colleges are eligible to admit students who will receive scholarship from PMSSS. What action has the State Government taken against the agents and NGOs instrumental in getting the students admitted in a university which is not recognized by the UGC.
In short it appears that there is a huge mess and no stakeholder has been honest in its dealings. J&K Government which is super sensitive in regard to the students admitted to institutions outside J&K should have acted at right time and advised the students against seeking admission in this university.
