No end to distress calls

JAMMU, Sept 11: Excelsior continued to receive more and more distress calls from the persons, whose family members have been trapped in flood ravaged Srinagar for past about a week.
Excelsior had launched helpline on its website help@dailyexcelsior.com, where a large number of people continued to post details about their near and dear ones, who have been trapped in the flood waters in Srinagar.
Joya Niaz has been trapped in Comrade Hotel at Rajbagh, her family said.
IK Raina said families of Ellaquai Dehati Bank staff have been trapped in Srinagar.
AK Raina posted from Panchkula, Chandigarh that her sister Neetu Raina and her husband Sunil Raina were trapped at H No. 46 on back side of Broadway Cinema at Shivpora, Srinagar and were without food and water. The couple need immediate help, he said.
Nikhil Mahajan wrote that about 20 people were stranded at Hotel Jhelum View at Rajbagh for past four days and need immediate rescue. Rajeshwar Sharma posted that 75 years old Ram Rattan Sharma, a diabetic and heart patient is stranded at Hotel Jhelum in Rajbagh and needs to be rescued immediately.
Family of SL Pandita said he last called them in the morning of September 9 from helipad but since then they had no contact with him. Pandita is a heart patient.
Tahir Ahmad said his father Mohammad Yusuf of Panjtirthi, Jammu is trapped in the house of Ghulam Nabi Waza at Heaven Colony, Srinagar. Ashutosh Bakshi, AEE PDD, who was staying at Hotel Green Field, Rajbagh also needs immediate help, his relative wrote.
Santosh Bhan posted that her daughter Kavita Bhan along with her husband Ravinder Bhat were stranded between Pantha Chowk and Zewan and she has no contact with them since September 6.
Priyanka wrote that her family members including Rajinder Kotru and others were staying at Hotel Centre Town, Karan Nagar and the family has no contact with them.
Jeet Raj was stuck at Lala Rukh Hotel in Lal Chowk and needs immediate rescue, wrote Dheeraj.
Chatto Ram was staying at Hotel Happy Day opposite Radio Station and was in need of immediate help, his son Vikas Kundan wrote.
Pankaj Rajput said he along with about 400 persons were stranded at MLA hostel near Hotel Broadway, Srinagar but none has so far tried to rescue them.
