Encroachment on 52 kanal forest land removed

UDHAMPUR/ REASI, May 15: The Forest department sleuths today removed encroachment on nearly 52 Kanal of land in Udhampur and Reasi Forest Divisions. A structure was also smashed.
A senior Forest officer said that a team of Forest staff led by Block officer, Guddar-Sangial, Rajeev Gupta under the supervision of Range Officer, Udhampur, Mahesh Abrol and guidance of DFO Udhampur, Shaveta Jandial, launched operation in Compartment No. 12 at Gurnai in Guddar today and cleared 2 kanals of Forest land grabbed by a local, Mohd Yunis, son of Shakar Din.
A Kutcha structure raised by the villager on the forest land was also dismantled. The RO said that this exercise would go on in this belt in near future as well.
Meanwhile, staff of Katra Range of Reasi Forest Division, led by RO Kushal Singh and Forester, Madan Lal during operation at Bhaga today, removed encroachment on nearly 50 Kanal forest land worth crores.
There was some resistance from the land grabbers initially but they were not allowed to move into the land. The action is being initiated against these land grabbers including -Mohd Sadiq, Mohd Gani, Mohd Bashir, Mohd Gafoor and Sakhi Mohd, all residents of Morha Kalla in Suketar area. The overall operation was conducted under the supervision of DFO Reasi, Anil Attri.
