MENDHAR, Aug 30: With the demolition of several structures, the Forest Department Poonch removed encroachment on its nearly 500 kanals of land in Mendhar area today.
A senior Forest official said that a Forest team from Mendhar Range, led by Range Officer Javed Iqbal and assisted by his staff and FPF men launched major operation against land grabbers and removed encroachment on its land in Forest Compartment No. 176, 186, 187, 188 and 189 of Mandhar Range today.
About ten pucca and kutcha structures/ sheds raised by five local persons were also smashed. These structures belonged to Khadam Hussain, Mohd Shabir, Nazir Ahmed, Abdul Majid and Nazir Hussain, hailing from Ramkund locality of Mendhar. They have booked by the department.
