Sir,
Our roads in Jammu are not in a position to carry on with the increasing traffic . They are the same in width and space. Footpaths are there on most of the roads for commuters to ease the space for smooth traffic . We find that almost all footpaths and even some portions of the roads are encroached upon by shopkeepers or Rehri walas not to speak of the vehicles parked in a haphazard way. Why should footpaths be used by shopkeepers as a permanent part of their shops to exhibit their goods? Why should they add to the already chronic traffic mess ? Why should for votes Ministers keep silent? Please look into this problem and involve and take cooperation of all in doing away with this practice. Keeping roads movable and less congested is a must for security reasons.
Yours etc….
