Employees body demands change in office timings

JAMMU, May 19: The Jammu and Kashmir Govt Employees Joint Action Committee has demanded change in office timings in Jammu region.
In a meeting of the GEJAC -K held here today under the leadership of Balwinder Singh, provincial president, Dharminder Singh, Ravi Singh, Amrik Singh Sasan, Ravinder Singh ( Planning), Narinder Singh, Rajinder Sharma and others the members strongly demanded that office timings in Jammu division be changed from 10 am-4.30 pm to 8 am to 2pm. They said that during hot summer months, it is terrible to perform duty under 45 degree Celsius temperature in Jammu region.
They also demanded 5 days working in week like in Civil Secretariat and many other offices, refund Ist installment of premium deducted from the salary of employees in lieu of mediclaim policy which now has been with drawn, increase medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 3000 per month and regularise all the temporary workers/ daily wagers.
