SRINAGAR, Feb 14: With utter disregard for ethical and safety standards, a hospital employee at the Community Health Centre (CHC) Chattergam in Budgam district was caught riding a scooter inside the hospital corridors today.
A video of the incident went viral on social media, sparking outrage and criticism. People expressed shock over the employee’s behavior and called out the hospital administration for negligence.
The individual has been identified as Abdul Majid Darzi, an MTS staff member posted at CHC Chattergam.
“This is a sorry state of affairs in our hospitals. How was this person not stopped by anyone? It’s good that his act was caught on camera. The authorities must take strict action,” locals said.
Residents also demanded action against the hospital administration, accusing them of failing to uphold safety standards.
Meanwhile, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Budgam has taken note of the incident and ordered the attachment of the employee, along with an inquiry into the matter.
