SAMBA, May 14: An employee of the ARTO Office Samba and her associate were nabbed red handed receiving bribe for preparation of a motor vehicle license.
The duo were caught red handed by a team constituted by District Magistrate, Samba, Sheetal Nanda after she received two separate complaints from the two applicants who had applied for license saying that the employee was demanding bribe for issuance of the license.
The DM deputed officers including a gazetted officer and an official from the Police Department with the applicant who nabbed the official and her associate red handed.
The employee and her associate have been nabbed and report has been sent to SSP Samba for further action under law.
Sheetal Nanda said that administration is very receptive about complaints from the public about corruption in the departments. She said administration should initiate every action as and when required to curb bribery and corruption in the Government departments. Her office will welcome the genuine complaints to root out corruption ,she added.
The DM said she received complaints from two different sources and she immediately sent a team of officers to nab the culprit with the help of SSP Samba. She made it clear that the district administration will not tolerate any thing in this regard.
