Electronic supervision

Lack of proper supervision of developmental projects that are crucial to the overall progress of the State has been identified as the reason for leaving them either incomplete or halfway. The Government has devised application e-Samiksha for effective monitoring of infrastructure projects in the State. In the first phase around 100 high-value projects are being brought under the e-monitoring. The Governor, in a meeting with top brass of bureaucracy instructed that the Additional District Development Commissioners (ADDCs) and District Statistical and Evaluation Officers (DSEOs) will be responsible for monitoring of the infrastructure projects in their respective areas of jurisdiction. He stressed the need that the officers have to make regular verification of the infrastructural projects to ensure that steady progress is maintained. Apart from their physical presence and verification e-Samiksha will also be carried out by the authorities and regular progress reports brought to the Raj Bhawan.
Considering the past easy-go-lucky and non-accountable approach of the District level authorities towards the pace of progress of infrastructural projects, it had become necessary to tighten the administration and hold district authorities responsible for reporting timely progress. This is precisely how the work should proceed. People have welcomed this step of the Governor because the infrastructures underway are directly related to the welfare and comfort of the people. The time has come when the bureaucracy must change its old and hackneyed mindset and respond to the aspirations of the people of this century.
