JAMMU, Feb 11: An extraordinary general body meeting of Jammu & Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) was held today at Gladni Complex, under the chairmanship of Er Pirzada Hidayatullah, president of JKEEGA, for highlighting long pending demands and issues of the cadre.
The participants expressed concern about the alleged callous attitude of the Government towards long pending and legitimate demands of Power Engineers. The meet showed its dismay about the adhocism and additional charge culture adopted by the Government by not filling up the vacant posts from Chief Engineer up to the Junior Engineer level.
Members also showed their extreme annoyance over the fact that out of the total fourteen number posts of Chief Engineer, eight are lying vacant while eleven posts of
Superintending Engineer out of cadre strength of twenty five, are vacant and at least forty posts of Executive Engineer are also vacant and what to talk of AEEs and AEs though some of the engineers are on the verge of superannuation.
The fraternity of Power Engineers vociferously condemned the implementation of transfer policy as some of the recent orders in piece meal of AEEs and JEs showed the appeasement towards the blue-eyed thereby flouting the transfer policy. Furthering the issues, the total collapse of the HRM Deptt of PDD has led to this chaos but nothing is being done to rejuvenate the same, the Association members opined.
On the occasion, the Association adopted a resolution impressing upon the Government for needful to be done and also warned protests like working with black badges, one day casual leave, one day token strike and even power shutdown in entire state barring vital installations, if the Government does not take immediate steps to address their grievances.
The meeting was addressed by Er Shuban Zutshi, Er K K Raina, Er S.K.Koul, Er Bashir Ahmed Dar, Er Mohmad Yusaf Baba, Er Sanjeev Kailwoo and members of the Executive Committee of JKEEGA.
Er Neeraj Sharma, general secretary JKEEGA, presented vote of thanks to all the participating Engineers.
