JAMMU, Feb 1: Senior leader Pawan Khajuria today urged the public representatives of Jammu Kashmir and the UT Government, that when the Assembly session begins from tomorrow, they should at least try to do something for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the daily wagers.
He said that there are many works in Jammu and Kashmir which the Government and all public representatives had promised to the common people, but more than a year has passed since the elections and the problems remain the same, with no follow up.
He further said that the elected representatives, the MLAs, should try to understand the pain of daily wage workers and also understand how their households are running and how they are managing their livelihoods. They should think about the hardships under which these people are surviving. Do anyone from amongst them really realize their suffering, or all of them have forgotten all tall promises after winning the elections?
He humbly requested the Government to understand that the families of daily wage workers have placed many hopes. All MLAs, lease stop giving them false assurances. Whenever you raise your voice together for them, their pain will automatically begin to heal. “Making daily wage workers permanent would be in the interest of the entire society. Therefore, I request all the MLAs to address their legitimate demands,. Along with this, there are many other issues in the UT that urgently need to be resolved,. Please for God sake, try to live up to the expectations of the distressed public,. Serving the people is considered the greatest duty in the world, and those who turn away from this duty are not supported even by Go,” he added.
He said problems will not be solved merely by speaking in the media or holding press conferences, sharing media bytes, or photographs of meetings. “If you invest even one percent of your honesty, positive results will surely be seen,” he added.
