JAMMU, Feb 10: State vice president of Dalit Sena, Gian Chand Bhagat has urged upon the State Govt to elect a Dalit community member to the State Legislative Council from district Kishtwar.
In a press statement here, Bhagat pointed out that Govt is going to fill the vacancies in the Upper House during March -April, 2017 and this time an opportunity should be provided to a Dalit member from Kishtwar district. He said the community from this district always remained ignored by the respective Governments in the past.
He said there are many educated and intellectual members from this community in Kishtwar district and representation should be given to the community from this remote district. A Member from Erstwhile Doda district should also be nominated in the State Advisory Board for development of SCs, Bhagat added.
