JAMMU, Feb 12: An elderly woman was among two tried to commit suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at their respective residences.
As per reports, 75-year-old Koushalaya Devi, wife of late Prem Chand of Aparthal, tehsil Sunderbani allegedly consumed some poisonous substance at her residence.
Finding her unconscious, family members shifted her to nearby hospital and later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where she was undergoing treatment, when last reports came in.
Meanwhile, a middle aged man identified as Sohan Lal, son of Lal Chand of Raipur, Satwari also tried to end his life by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence.
Family members rushed him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where his condition was stated to be stable, when last reports came in.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at concerned police stations and investigation started to ascertain the reason behind such extreme step.
