UDHAMPUR, Aug 11: In a tragic incident, a 70 -year- old man was electrocuted when he came in contact with a live service snapped from the electric pole on one end and lying on group at village Barta Roundmail, here today.
According to reports, Suram Chand (70) son of Late Kikru Ram, resident of Barta Roundmail Udhampur, received severe electric shock when he accidently came in contact with the live while passing near the electric pole.
Even as the family members and villagers immediately rushed the victim to District hospital Udhampur, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The Police have registered a case in this connection while locals held the PDD authorities responsible for the mishap as the service lines were left loose.
