RAJOURI, Jan 22: The dead body of an elderly drum beater (Dholi) was recovered from Doongi area of Rajouri today.
Reports said that 75-year-old Lal Chand, son of Channu Ram, resident of Androla village had gone to a marriage function in Doongi area. He went missing while returning home. His body was recovered from a gorge near the village. He was believed to have slipped into a gorge under the influence of liquor last night. The police said he had also sustained head injury.
After postmortem body was handed over to the family for last rites today. The Police launched inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC.
