JAMMU, Dec 22: Natrang today presented a well designed presentation of globally acknowledged Russian writer Anton Chekhov’s (A Happy Man), ‘Ek Khush Insaan’, a play in Hindi, at Natrang Studio Theatre in its Sunday series.
Directed by Neeraj Kant, the play opens in a 2nd class train compartment where train has just left the stop and passengers are busy in talking to each other to pass their time as a long distance is still left. Suddenly, they find a person boarding the running train and join them in their conversation. He was drunk and of course did not belong to that compartment.
In high spirits, he reveals that he has his seat booked in the First Class boogie of this train and his beautiful newly married wife is waiting for him there. As he could not catch his boogie as the train left the station before he could return, he would go back to his seat in the next station. Till then he does not want to spent his time regretting, rather he wants to be happy in any situation.
His idea is to find the happiness where ever one may and he strongly preaches his ideology to the fellow passengers. He asserts to see the positivity everywhere as this is our prospective which makes the things good or bad. But all his convictions were evaporated when he finds that he himself is in trouble, as in hurry, he had boarded the wrong train and his wife is waiting for him in some other train.
This is very dramatically reflected in the play that how people, who are well versed in teaching and preaching others lose all their wisdom and patience when it comes to their own life.
Natrang actors who acted in the play included Mahikshit Singh Sambyal, Mohd Yaseen, Rishiv Prabhakar, Masood Qadir, Sachin Saini, Sachin Bamba, Syed Mudassar Ali Shah and Pankaj Verma.
Lights were operated by Neeraj Kant and Music was scored by Shivam Manhas. The sets were designed by Rishiv Prabhakar while Sushil Raina presented the show before the audience. The show was coordinated by Sumeet Sharma.
