SRINAGAR, Feb 4: The Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Action Committee (J&K EJAC) fervently demands the Government to expedite the regularization process for Rehbar-e -Khail (ReK) teachers and various temporary nature employees, including daily wagers.
Wajahat Hussain Durrani, president of the EJAC in a message to the Lieutenant Governor (LG) administration, emphasizes the critical importance of addressing the prolonged concerns faced by these dedicated individuals.
Mir Bashir, the spokesperson for J&K EJAC, conveyed Durrani’s serious apprehensions regarding the prolonged uncertainty experienced by employees in different departments. Notably, he highlights the plight of ReK teachers demanding regularization after completing 5 years of continuous service under the ReT pattern. He underscores the meagre monthly remuneration of Rs 4000, urging the Government to reduce the temporary period by two years and enhance the monthly honorarium for improved livelihoods. He also advocated for issuance of regularization order in case of Rehbar-e-Junglat employees who have already completed 5 years of service, as laid down in their regularization policy.
Addressing the concerns of Rehbar-e- Khail employees, Durrani advocated for their regularization after completing a 5-year tenure instead of 7 years, stressing for reduction of 2 years. Mir Bashir emphasized on Durrani’s heartfelt appeal to the Government, acknowledging recent positive decisions while urging a swift resolution for daily wagers, vocational teachers, Rehbar-e- Junglat, MGNREGA employees, NYC, SPOs, and other temporary staff.
“While we appreciate recent Government decisions, serious concerns persist for various employee categories, the uncertainty about their future has led to anxiety and immense pressure on these individuals. It is imperative for the Government to provide assurances regarding the regularization of these services,” Derrani said.
