JAMMU, Feb 12: For discussing the programme of two-day protest on February 14-15, an emergent session of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) was held, here today under the chairmanship of Abdul Qayoom Wani.
Abdul Qayoom Wani appealed all the employees to make the protest programme of JCC a success and fight against all such steps aimed at against the employees and people.
The EJAC gave final touch to the two-day programmes and informed that peaceful protest shall be held at Assembly on February 14 while pen down strike will be observed across in the whole State on February 15. The leaders were advised to have close contact with district, zonal level office bearers and make it a success on ground level.
At the same time, Qayoom Wani also urged the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to intervene personally to avoid confrontation between Government and State employees. JCC believes in settlement of issues through negotiation and when the Government closes its doors then there is no alternative other then to peaceful agitation, he said.
The leaders who attended the meeting included, Amrik Singh, Dr Manzoor Ahmed, Ganesh Khajuria, Manzoor Ah Pampori, Narinder Singh Jamwal, Gh Rasool Bhat, Nusrat Ah Beig, Jagdish Sharma, Bharat Bhushan Kotwal, Jamayat Ali, Darshan Singh and others.
