SRINAGAR, Sept 2: Employees Joint Action Committee has urged the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to intervene personally in the issue of regularization of temporary employees “otherwise the situation may take an untoward turn.”
According to a statement, EJAC President Ab. Qayoom Wani convened a meeting to discuss the promise made by the CM regarding the regularization of Daily Wagers, Casual and Temporary Employees, whose time frame had ended before August.
“But till now no decision has been taken by the Government regarding these poor, helpless and starving employees. Instead they are lathi-charged to weaken their struggle. These poor, helpless employees have given sacrifices in the solution of issues of regular employees. Now it is the need of the hour that the 5 lakh regular employees should take their regularization of daily wagers as a challenge,” the statement said.
Wani assured the temporary employees that the JCC and EJAC leadership will not leave them in lurch at this crucial juncture but would participate practically in the struggle of their regularization.
EJAC will evolve a plan to press the Government to fulfill the demands of these workers on September 5 with all the unions.
