EFMS workshop concludes

JAMMU, Feb 6: A two-day Electronic Fund Management Services (EFMS) workshop concluded at Gramin Vikas, Bhawan, here today.
The workshop was inaugurated by Secretary Rural Development Department Shafat Noor Barlas in which nearly 100 delegates participated. It was organized by Rural Development Department (MGNREGA cell)
Director, Rural Development, Jammu G. N. Balwan, besides other senior officers of RDD were also present on the occasion.
It is worth mentioning here that the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) programme has been launched by Govt. of India for effecting directly transfers of entitlements like wages, scholarships, pensions, subsidies etc. to the beneficiaries across the country under various Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
The experts from NIC Government of India, Rakesh Sexena, Mohit Saini apprised the masses about modes of electronic fund management service to ensure transparency and speedy disposal of the claims pertaining to MGNREGA and IAY. They also trained the MIS and CIC operators and other Data Entry Operators for online fund transfer so that the benefits of the various centrally sponsored schemes especially MGNREGA and IAY can percolate down to the deserving masses without only pilferage.
Moreover, the experts also informed the participants about the modes for speedy disposal of the claims pertaining to the implementation of various scheme.
In his address, Director RDD, G N Balwan enjoined upon the officers and the other participants to keep no stone unturned for 100% achievement in various schemes launched by Rural Development Department and also ensure 100% uploading for MIS.
Member secretary MGNREGA K.K Sidha divulged the basis and basics of EMFS and the guidelines issued by Union Ministry of Rural Development which has fixed 1 April 2015 as timeline for its implementation.
Among other, Assistant Commissioner Development, Jammu Suram Sharma, Deputy Director Plg. K.K. Sharma participated in the two day workshop.
