JAMMU, Aug 24: Various educational institutions celebrated Janamashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna with religious fervour.
Krishna Janamashtami was celebrated with enthusiasm at KC International School. A special assembly was conducted by Ruby House. The little Krishna and Radha looked adorable in their traditional costumes. The students presented various items. The programme concluded by the vote of thanks by Vice Principal Anupama Sinha. Activity Coordinator Rajni Malhotra, music teachers, dance teachers and Ruby house master were also present on the occasion. Principal Maya Mishra wished Happy Janam Ashtami to all KCites.
Delhi Public School, Jammu, organized special assembly to celebrate Janamashtami. The event started with a brief introduction by Kriti Gupta-XII F and Rajansh Vashishth XI B of Yamuna House, which was followed by various other activities. Principal, Ruchi Chabra gave away prizes to winners of different Inter School Competitions in presence of Headmistress, Meenu Gupta, Mr Malhotra, School Administrator, Karandeep, Manager Operations and R C Gupta, Accounts Officer. Usha Dhar, House Warden, Yamuna House, presented vote of thanks.
A function was organised in the School premises of Maharaja Hari Singh DAV Public Higher Secondary School Udhampur on the occasion of Janamashtami. In this function, the tiny tots presented fancy dress show. The children of the institution depicted the various phases of Lord Krishna’s life. Second group of the students of playway wing competed for best Radha and best Krishna. In addition to it, group dances were also performed by the students. Romesh Sharma Chairman of the institution was the chief guest on the occasion.
Janamashtami was celebrated at DPS Nagbani. Students attired as Radha, Krishna, Sudama, Gopis and Gawalas participated in the programme and presented songs and dance items depicting the events from Krishna’s life. The students also took part in handi and mukut decoration. The main attraction of the programme was the ‘Matki Fodh’. The importance of the festival was explained to the students by Sonia Sharma, Hindi teacher. Principal of the school gave away prizes to the cutest Radha and Krishna.
Vishwa Bharati Public Higher Secondary School, Akalpur Morh celebrated Janamashtami with religious fervour. The programme started with ‘Shri Krishna Vandana’. The tiny tots of pre-primary wing displayed their fabulous talent by transvesting as Krishna, Radha, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Neta Ji and Narender Modi in a fancy dress competition. Some students presented melodious religious songs and recited poems. School Principal Prof Annapurna Koul accentuated to follow the path of Bhagwat Gita shown by Lord Krishna. In fancy dress competition, Divyanshu and Akash stood first, Aradhya and Mithilesh secured second position and Yashasvi and Ranveer clinched third rank from class Nursery, while from class Ist, Parth stood first, Tejasvi and Mansi stood second and Ehna and Pranav clinched third position. From class SKG, Satyajeet and Mehak stood first, Ekansh and Sayam stood second and Suhani and Prince bagged third position. Kite flying competition was also organised.
SOS Hermann Gmeiner School celebrated Janamashtami. The celebration started with the morning assembly especially devoted to Janam Ashtami. Two students spoke on the importance of the day. The students presented dance items, sang song and recite bhajan. Matki Todh also took place. Movie was shown to take kids to the journey of Lord Krishna from his birth to the time when he battles out the evil King Kans and to the time when he shows himself as Lord Vishnu. Principal RK Dhar was also present on the occasion.
Janamashtami was celebrated at DPS Udhampur. The celebration started with the holy chants from Bhagavad Gita. A cultural program was presented by the pre-primary wing of the school. An inter house dance competition was also organized, wherein Atharva Veda house emerged winner. Various competitions were organized for fathers of the students. Chairman of the school Dr JC Gupta threw light on the importance of the day. MD of the school Vivek Gupta, Principal Yogeshwari Rathore, Vice-Principal Sucheta Gupta and Sunita Gupta were present on the occasion.
Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar celebrated Janamashtami. A function was organized, wherein Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Managing Director of the school threw light on the importance of the day. Devinder Kour, Principal, Vice Principal Nirmala Koul and staff members were also present on the occasion. Students attired in colourful dress depicted various poses of Lord Krishna. A jhanki of Lord Krishna was also presented, which was followed by cultural items. ‘Govindas’ broke the Matki.
The toddlers of Lawrence Public School, Panjtirthi and Sidhra branch celebrated Janamashtami in the school premises. The small toddlers came dressed up as Radha, Krishna, Yashodha Maiya, Gopiya to present a skit depicting scenes from Lord Krishna’s birth till Raasrilla. Other items including one minute show and balancing a pot on head were also organised. There were some awards for the student which included student with the best smile, student with the best traditional jewellery, best dress, and best hair style. The most interesting show of the day was Nat-Khat Kanha. The senior students participated in breaking of Dahi Handi. Shakuntla Joshi, Founder Principal Lawrence Public School apprised the students about the importance of the day.
Springdales Higher Secondary School, Krishna Nagar celebrated Janamashtami. Tiny angels of Kindergarten wing participated in fancy dress competition representing childhood of Radha and Krishna. Students performed amazing dance items depicting the life of Lord Krishna. Rashmi Malhotra, Principal and Basanti, Co-ordinator were also present on the occasion.
MHAC Nagbani celebrated Krishna Janamashtami. Various cultural items made the occasion bright & colourful. Students presented a breathtaking Dandiya on a melodious number. Many tiny tots of the school were dressed like Lord Krishna and beautiful Radhikas. Special Krishna’s swing was made and the charming Krishnas were made to sit in that along with enchanting of shalokas from Bhagwat Gita. In the end, Principal Alok Betab appealed everyone to implement the teachings of Lord Krishna to lead a righteous and useful life.
Luthra Public School, Talab Tillo, Luthra Higher Secondary School Kacchi Chawani, Shemrock Icons and Shemrock Angels celebrated Janamashtami. The students of Shemrock Angels presented a dance drama “Hey Krishna” and the students of Shemrock Icons won the heart of audience by enacting various roles from Shri Krishna’s life. Chairman Rajeev Luthra and Principal Sanjeev Luthra were also present on the occasion.
JK Police Public School, Miran Sahib celebrated Janamashtami by conducting special assembly in which students of different houses participated actively. The programme began with a beautiful prayer followed by a lecture delivered by the students of class XI, Preeti Choudhary.
Thereafter an Intra-House Dance Competition was organized in which students presented “Krishan Leela, Ras Leela, Bal Leela and Makhan Chori”. First prize was bagged by Ambedkar House whereas second prize was bagged by Subash House and second runner up position was shared by Gandhi House and Nehru House. Tiny Tots of the School were attired in Radha Krishna’s costume as they presented different Glimpses of Lord Krishna’s life in Gokul Nagri. Sanjeev Pradhan, Principal of the School gave away the prizes to the winners.
New Gandhi Memorial Higher Secondary School, Miran Sahib celebrated Janamashtami, the birthday of ‘Lord Krishna’ with religious values, gaiety and enthusiasm in the school premises. Teachers taught the students about significance of the day in the morning assembly with the prayer of ‘Lord Krishna’ followed by a colourful program presented by the students of different classes.
Janamashtami was celebrated in the premises of Anuradha Higher Secondary School, Barnai, with great fervor. The small kids portrayed as Radha-Krishna enthralled the audience with their beautiful songs and dances. Some students also threw light on the importance and sanctity of the day.
SM Shishu Niketan Higher Secondary School, Anand Nagar, Patta Bohri celebrated Janamashtami. Managing Director Parneesh Mahajan, Liaison Officer Harvinder Singh Sihotra, Principal Manikarnika Bhasin, Co-ordinator Sonika Jain and staff were present on the occasion. Students of junior wing were dressed up as Krishna and Yashoda depicting the role of Krishna in generating Dharma. The students of higher wing delivered speech on the occasion and also participated in Matki and Jhula making competition. Students performed “Dandhiya” and sang songs.
Janamashtami was celebrated at Crescent Public School, Janipur. The programme started with pooja of Lord Krishna performed by MD Tasneem Choudhary and Principal Bhavna Kaushal. On the occasion, crescentians attired as Lord Krishna and Gopikas took part in various cultural items. The audience was entertained by a small clip on the friendship of Lord Krishna and Sudama. Dandiya dance was performed by seniors and dance items were presented by little crescentians.
May Fair Schools celebrate Janamashtami at Chinore, Chand Nagar and Janipur branches. Raj Bharti, Renowned Social Worker was the chief guest. Around 500 childrens from Nursery to 8th classes of all the three branches took part in the celebration. Dressed as Bal Krishan and Radha, students performed Ras leela, Kite Making and Krishna Jhula Making Competitions. Raj Bharti along with Vijay Kumar Basur, Chairman, May Fair Schools and Ashwani Sharma, MD, Gold Advertiser distributed prizes and certificates to the best dressed kids and winners in other activities. Anita Basur, Secretary, May Fair Schools, Radhika Basur and Abhey Basur, Trustees, May Fair School, Lalita Chadha, School Administrator and Ranjit Kour Principal May Fair School Janipur were also present.
Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua celebrated Janamashtami. The program started with “Dahi Handi Phod”. A fancy dress competition was conducted in which all the children of pre-primary section were dressed up as Radha, Krishna and many more characters related to Janam Ashtami. For classes 1st to 8th Matka decoration competition was organized. A dance performance was given by the students of Prep class. Sanjeevani, SHO Women Cell Kathua, Principal and Co-ordinator played the role of judges. Prizes were distributed among the winners.
Janamashtami was celebrated at Maa Saraswati Vidyalaya, Shazadpur, Pupa, Block Marh. A colourful cultural programme was organized by the staff members. Kite flying competition was also organized on the occasion.
The children of Shiv Public Higher Secondary School, Ghou Manhasan Road, celebrated Janamashtami with great pomp and show. The students performed various colourful activities including a small skit on ‘Radha-Krishna’.
Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Sainik Colony celebrated Janamashtami with great enthusiasm. Children presented group song and dance that enthralled the audience. Little flowers of kindergarten were beautifully dressed up as Lord Krishna and Radha.
Bhartiya Shiksha Kender High School, Domana celebrated Janmashtami under the theme “Rang Rasiya” in which not only students but their parents were also invited as Vasudev, Devki, Nand and Yashoda. In a very colourful and mythological atmosphere, event began with “Jhanki of Baal Gopal” followed by series of dance and music performances. Dahihaandi was also broken on the occasion.
JK Convent School, Subash Nagar celebrated Krishan Janamashtmi in school premises. A colorful dance and a play on the life and teachings of Lord Krishna were performed. A dhai handi program was also arranged by the school management.
The Calliope School, Doomi celebrated the auspicious festival of Krishna Janamashtami with a lot of fun and religious fervour. Various cultural items made the occasion bright and colourful. Many tiny tots of the school were dressed like Lord Krishna -the Lord Vishnu’s incarnation and Radhikas and Gopies. Special Krishna’s swing was made and the charming Krishnas were made to sit in that along with enchanting of shalokas from Bhagwat Gita.
Primary Section of Chander Bhaga Public High School, celebrated Janamashtami with enthusiasm. Students enacted scenes of Lord Krishna, Radha and Gopies. Teachers explained the importance of the festival to the students.
Cambridge Public High School, Paloura celebrated Janam Ashtami with religious fervour and gaiety. On the occasion, students presented variety of cultural items depicting the life of Lord Krishna. Principal Baljit Singh Manhas threw light on the importance of the festival.
Janamashtami was celebrated at SD Tara Puri Public High School, Gandhi Nagar. The students showcased their artistic talent with presentation of cultural progamme. Ram Lal, School Secretary was the chief guest, who threw light on the life and teachings of Lord Krishna. Principal Neeru Puri was also present.
Stephens International Public School celebrated Janamashtami. Colourful programme was presented by the students. Amarjeet Singh, Satvinder Saini, Shibu Mathew K, Vikesh Sandhal, teachers and students were present on the occasion.
Elite Public School, Om Nagar, Udheywala celebrated Janamashtami. Kids dressed as Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha took part in various activities. Jai Krishan Tufchi, senior teacher of the institution spoke about the importance of the festival. Chairperson of the school Mala Sharma was also present on the occasion.
Light House Public School celebrated Janamashtami. Children dressed as Krishna, Radha and Gopikas presented colourful cultural items.
Janamashtami was celebrated at Harsh Niketan Higher Secondary School, Sunderbani. About 1000 students, their parents and galaxy of faculty members attended the function. A tableau predicting various aspects of Lord Krishna’s life was taken out from Block B of the school which after having a round of main bazaars culminated in the complex.
Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu celebrated Janamashtami. Children dressed in fancy clothes as mythological characters added fervor to the auspicious day. A special assembly was organized to celebrate this festival. The primary wing started the assembly with devotional song. The senior classes presented a dance drama. Breaking of “Dahi Handi” added colour to the festive programme.
Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson Rohini Aima impressed upon the students to preserve the socio-cultural heritage of country.
Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana celebrated Janamashtami. The celebrations began with lighting of ceremonial lamp by Ruchi Charak, Trustee and Anita Bhatia, Principal. Special assembly was conducted. Students were attired as Lord Krishna, Radha and Gopies. The students also danced on the tunes of bhajans and devotional songs. Dahi Handi ceremony was also performed. Students also flew colourful kites.
Janamashtami was celebrated at Shiv Public School. The kids presented cultural programmes. Managing Director Shiv Salaria distributed gifts among the kids.
Dewan Devi Playway/ Higher Secondary School, Rajpura Mangotrian celebrated Janamashtami. The programme began with the lighting of the auspicious lamp by the Chairman of the school Subhash Chander Suri. The students of Kindergarten and Primary wing enthusiastically took part in various cultural activities depicting the birth and childhood of Lord Krishna. The greatest attraction of the day was cracking of Dahi Handi.
JK Montessorie British School and its affiliated Unit J.K Little Millennium International School celebrated Janamashtami. Students were dressed in colourful costumes depicting roles of Lord Krishna and his beloved Radha. Students participated in fancy dress contest, colourful Rasleela, Makhan Choor Leela and Dhai Handi. Teachers enlightened the students about significance of the festival. “Mukut” making competition was also organized. The sketch of “Lord Krishna” was sent to the parents by school to fill colours of their choice and most decorated colouring sheet was selected and appreciated. Management of the school gifted “kites” to every student. An exhibition of “Kites” was also displayed for the students. Director Academics Rajni Gupta was also present on the occasion.
Wonder World School, Trikuta Nagar and Gandhi Nagar celebrated Janamashtami. Children came dressed as Lord Krishna. The celebrations started with devotional songs, followed by dance, pooja, arti, blowing of conch, rocking of the cradled of baby Sri Krishna and craft activities. Founder Gitanjali Mahajan emphasized on the importance of the day.
Indira Kids Playway School, Shant Nagar, Janipur celebrated Janamashtami with zeal and enthusiasm. Students presented cultural items, which were appreciated by the audience. Principal Rashu Padha highlighted the importance of the festival and asked the students to follow the teachings of Lord Krishna.
Apple Kids International Pre-School, Bantalab celebrated Janamashtami. Girls dressed up as Gopis danced with those dressed up as Krishna. The pre primary wing presented a wonderful show. They won the heart of all by enacting various roles of Shri Krishna. Matki was broken by Kanha and his friends together. Arti Sharma, Director of the School gave information to students about the life and thoughts of God Krishna.
SCIENTIA International School celebrated Janamashtami. Students attired in colourful dresses danced and sang bhajans. Students also spoke about the life of Lord-Krishna and laid stress on the teaching of Lord in Holy-Gita. Some students of senior-section danced and prayed to Lord for the welfare of whole Universe. Central attraction was the Matki-Phod enactment.
Daffodils Care Convent Play way School, Jain Bazar celebrated Janamashtami. The occasion started with a hymn of Lord Krishna. A play was also presented by the tiny angels showing the fight between Arjuna and Duryodhana where Lord Krishna was explaining Arjuna about the bond of brotherhood. Children were also looking very beautiful in the different characters of Mahabharata. Emphasizing the victory of Good over Evil, a victory procession was taken out by little angles. Principal Shikha Puri while speaking stressed upon the students to always speak truth.
Euro Care Pre School celebrated Janamashtami. Careens were beautiful dressed as little Radha and Krishna and enjoyed the celebration of the glorious festival. The bright and joyful faces lit the festive aura with the spirit of love, devotion and faith.
British International School celebrated Janamashtami. Tiny tots looked adorable in their traditional costumes and the entire school transformed into a land of joy, celebrations and happiness. The programme began with blowing of conchshel (shankhnaad) by Swastik Sharma of class 2. Special dance items were performed by children. Various competitions were also organised which include crown making competition, kite making and thali decoration. Matki phodo ceremony which replicates Krishna’s love for milk and butter was also performed in which students took part with zeal.
Madhuvan Kids Playway and Kindergarten celebrated Janamashtami with religious fervour and gaiety. Children enacted popular episodes from the childhood of Krishna during a special assembly, followed by dance items. They learnt about the significance of the festival and heard the story of Krishna’s birth. An idol of Lord krishna in the form of ‘Lalji’ was made to sit on a swing and made an offering. The celebrations concluded with the children enthusiastically breaking the ‘Matki’. Principal Amrit Choudhary encouraged the students to follow the teachings of Lord Krishna.
Rich Harvest, Shastri Nagar celebrated Janamashtami. On the occasion, students dressed up as characters from the life of Lord Krishna, were taken to Laxmi Narayan temple to offer prayers to Lord Krishna. The students were apprised about the importance of the festival.
Silver Spoon Playway and Kindergarten celebrated Janamashtami. The celebrations started with recitation of bhajans by tiny tots, followed by dancing to the tune of songs. Students dressed up like Radha, Krishna and Sudama as part of the celebrations. Principal of the school, Deepika Mahajan was also present.
Janamashtami was celebrated at Play Way House School, Pounichak in with Art of Living Happiness Centre volunteers took part. All the students of the school went through a short meditation and sang various bhajans. A short play and a number of dance items were presented by students.
Apple Kids International Pre School, Gandhi Nagar, also celebrated the Janam Ashtami festival with pomp and show. Children dressed up as Radha and Krishna, were looking beautiful. Principal of the school narrated the story of Lord Krishna to the students.
Stepping Stone School, Bari Brahmna celebrated Krishna Janamashtami in the school premises with religious fervour. The school was specially decorated with flower bunting and picture of Lord Krishna. Attraction part was ‘Matki’ full of ‘Makhan’ (butter) and cradle of lord Krishna decorated by the kids and teachers. The small toddlers came dressed up as Radha, Krishna and Gopies and won the heart of one and all by their dance performances.
Janamashtami was also celebrated by the kids and staff of SS Kids Care Playway School, Lakkar Mandi, Janipur.
