Educational institutions celebrate Earth Day

JAMMU, Apr 21: Earth Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by various educational institutions by organizing various activities like awareness programs, debates, plantation drives and poster making competitions.
A number of activities were organized at Delhi Public School, Nagbani to celebrate Earth Day. The children of primary classes enjoyed colouring pictures of national animals. Some primary students presented a skit pleading the people to come forward for the safety of the flora & fauna. Students also made pamphlets on carpooling and wrote slogans on environment protection.
In connection with Earth Day, Elite Public High School, Udheywala organized inter-class debate competition in which senior wing students participated with great enthusiasm and discussed various problems factors contributing to global warming like deforestation, industrialization, etc.
Shemrock Global Public School, Birpur, celebrated Earth Day with great enthusiasm here in the school premises. On the occasion, a Poster Making Competition was organized for the students. Students performed activity by colouring the picture of earth. Later, prizes were distributed among the students.
Students of Daffodils Care Convent Playway School, Jain Bazar (Jammu) expressed their concern for environment during Earth Day celebration in the school premises, today. The concern was shown by the students through various presentations. Various forms of pollution and their hazards were pointed out in an appealing manner by the teachers to evoke the right response from the tiny tots.
Earth Day was celebrated with full enthusiasm by Shemrock Apple Orchid School Akhnoor. An awareness rally was held by the staff and students with the aim of safe waste disposal under the public domain. Students and staff participated in plantation drives to make their surroundings green.
Little Millennium, a Pre School chain with branches at Roop Nagar and Gandhi Nagar today celebrated Earth Day by organizing a plantation drive at Rajinder Park, Canal Road, Jammu in which students of both the branches participated by planting the saplings of medicinal and ornamental plants in and around the park.
On the occasion of Earth Day, various informative activities took place in Penguin Paradise, Feeder wing of RM Public School to impart awareness to the children towards Mother Earth. Children were educated about the problems of universal Global warning and other environmental problems.
Choudhary Nursing Home, Akhnoor in association with Salvia Labs Private Limited organized a public awareness program to celebrate Earth Day. Dr Gafoor Ahmed elaborated the health hazards due to urbanisation and excessive cutting of trees and advised the patients to plant more and more trees in their vicinity to make a healthy tomorrow.
