Educational institutions celebrate Christmas Day

JAMMU, Dec 22: Various educational institutions celebrated Christmas Day with fanfare and zeal.
Christmas was celebrated in Delhi Public School Jammu with great zeal and enthusiasm. A special assembly was also organized on the occasion. A lively cultural programme was put up by the students. The gala moment of the assembly was the release of two school magazines “Tarini” & “Kriti”, the handywork of the middle and senior students, led by the student editorial board 2017-18. The magazines were released by SS Sodhi, Director, DPS Jammu who also felicitated the winners of various Inter-DPS, National and State level competitions. On the occasion Principal, Headmistress and other staff of the school were also present.
The students and staff of Alexander Memorial Higher Secondary School, Jammu celebrated Christmas with solemnity and gaiety. The blissful event was marked by the presence of several alumni boys and girls as well as the parents of the students. The programme started with the reading of a Psalm from the Holy Bible by Rev. Udai Singh, Presbyter-in-charge St. Paul’s Church, Jammu. The tiny tots staged a small skit depicting scenes from the Nativity Play. The school choir presented Christmas Carols. The function included a prayerful dance by the students of the Primary wing. The programme was followed by Christmas gift.
Christmas celebrations were held in the premises of Delhi Public School, Udhampur. The celebrations started with prayers by the school choir followed by Carol singing. All the students came clad in red colour. Santa Clause distributed sweets amongst the students and danced with them. Students of pre-primary wing made Santa mask and primary wing students decorated the Christmas tree. The students also sang Christmas carols and a skit associated with the birth of Jesus Christ was shown in the special assembly. Pro Vice Chairman of the school Dr JC Gupta told the students to enjoy the festival with great fervor. Later, a dance party was organized for the whole school.
Stephens International Public School celebrated Christmas with colorful dance performance from class UKG and beautiful choreography performed by class 3rd. During the speech, Manoj Kumar Agnihotri, Principal of the school explained that Christmas is the time to give and forgive and a season of great joy, healing and renewing strength. Dr Kamal Saini, Chairman and Satvinder Saini, Director were also present on the occasion.
St Peter’s High School celebrated Christmas with great zeal and enthusiasm. The Christmas celebration started with the ‘Lighting of Advent Candles ‘by the Principal Rev. Fr. Thomas Nirvathu along with Vice Principal Sr. Lizbeth, followed by wreath dance. Carol Singing was one of the main attractions of the programme. The dance drama depicting “The Birth of Jesus” won a lot of appreciation. Principal of the school emphasized on the need of having peace in the society and in the country at a large. The program ended with a wonderful Christmas blessing song. Children also had a merry time with Santa clause moving around.
Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu celebrated Christmas. Pre-primary wing students explored mathematics numbers, it was an innovative way with snowman jingles. The students were given a snowman picture with numbers on it. The students did colouring on the snowman and they were given numbers on it which they had to select and cut. A number is used to count, measure and label. The students were given prizes for the first, second and third prize positions by Principal-cum-Vice-Chairperson Rohini Aima.
Modern Montessori Interna-tional Preschool Jammu celebrated Christmas with great fun and fervor. The function started with the speech of Principal Pragya Gupta highlighting the importance of Christmas. The whole school was decorated beautifully on the occasion of Christmas. Children decorated Christmas tree, made snowman and Christmas cards. Gifts were exchanged among students. The whole environment was enthralled by dance performance by Pre-Nursery and Playgroup on song ‘Jingle Bells Jingle Bells’. All the students were beautifully dressed up in red colour with Santa caps. Different games like Catch it, Throw and Win, Bowling and Feed the Santa were played and enjoyed by kids. On the occasion, Directors of the School Bhavna Rohmetra and Sapna Rohmetra cut the cake. A party was also organized for the kids.
The Pre-Primary Wing of G.D. Goenka Public School, Jammu celebrated Christmas with a festive spirit. The little ones of kindergarten presented a colourful skit related to the birth of savior Jesus Christ wherein they dressed as Santa Claus, Joseph, Mother Mary, the king and the shepherds. The programme was followed by a dance and Christmas Carols by the little Goenkans. Principal Rajesh Rathore and Aparana Verma Vice Principal gave the message of being happy and enjoying Christmas day with family and friends.
A gala event celebrating the spirit of Christmas, was organised in the premises of Cynosure International Prep School, Gandhi Nagar, here. The little children of the Pre-school presented the nativity scene with painted clay images of baby Jesus. Santa too made a grand entry in the school auditorium. The delight was uncontained especially as he brought out the gifts. The Tonga ride for children was the special attraction of the celebration. Children sang Christmas carols and performed an enthralling dance adding to the festive atmosphere. School Principal expressed delight on seeing such enthusiasm in the children who brought the spirit of Christmas to life. At the end, a staff member attired as Santa Claus attracted the attention of the students and distributed candies and gifts among them. The children also cut a Christmas cake.
Christmas Day was celebrated in Shemrock Apple Orchid with great fervour and enthusiasm. Kids came in fancy dress like Santa Clause, Mary-Jesus, fairies, stars, trees etc for celebration. The celebration started with special assembly where the act was played on the life of Jesus Christ. Later songs and music was also played on carols. Santa Claus gave gift to little ones. Principal of School Shilpa Mahajan was also present on the occasion.
Dhruba Army Pre School celebrated Christmas Day. A special assembly was conducted during which students and school teacher took part. Students dressed as Santa Clause and Fairies danced to the tune of various Christmas songs.
Devs Kids International School Reasi celebrated Christmas in school premises. Tiny tots of school staged small skit and dance items. School Chairman Ajay Singh Kotwal was also present this occasion.
