POONCH, Feb 27: In a colourful ceremony, Officiating General Officer Commanding, Ace of Spades Division today flagged in an educational-cum-motivational tour organized by Poonch Brigade under the aegis of ‘Operation Sadbhavana’.
The ceremony was attended by the parents of the participating students, many senior Army officers and civil dignitaries.
The tour was organized for seven days from February 19 to February 26 for 23 children of border villages of the district to Delhi and Agra.
The tour provided an excellent opportunity to the underprivileged children of remote border areas to visit the National capital and the city of ‘The Taj Mahal’. A memorable ‘First’ included a visit to the Rashtrapati Bhawan, a trip to the Rajdhani Express and drive on the Noida Express Way, truly cherished by the children.
The students were very enthusiastic having interacted with the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee and many other civil and military dignitaries at New Delhi and Agra during the tour.
