Education sector suffers

Sir,
This has to reference to the news item ‘Education sector suffers due to suspension of class work’ DE May 1.
It is the misfortune of the Education sector in the State that it received less attention even in normal days, what to say of the present situation.
The department was subjected to official apathy and ministerial lethargy time and again. No minister who headed the department in the past bothered to revamp it, or infuse fresh life into it. As a result, the department stagneted and consequently the education system did not flourish much. The Department received further blow with the onset of militancy. No other sector suffered much as did the education. After several years, when the State had semblance of normalcy, it came back on the rails, partially. Now, militants destroyed it beyond repair by burning schools. Whatever may be the reason behind this madness, one thing is sure that children belonging to poor people became a casuality. They can’t afford private education at exorbitant fees. Only rich section does not bear the brunt whatever the circumstance prevail. Hope people realise the gravity the situation and will help in bringing back the derailed education system.
Yours etc…
