SRINAGAR, Feb 6: Director School Education, Kashmir, has shut the entry gate of his office for public, thus putting the visitors, especially those from far off areas, into trouble.
People are aghast over the decision taken by Director Education, Kashmir Mir Tariq Ali for not allowing visitors up to 2 pm inside the office premises. “We are shocked to learn that the main gate of Director’s office will not be open before 2 pm. We come from far off places for redressal of our grievances. But we are forced to leave without any hearing to our issues,” said Syed Amjid, a teacher, who has travelled some 80 kilometers from Kaprin in district Shopian to complete his pending issues in his service record file.
The visitors complained that they have been making rounds in to his office from many days but are unable to complete their documental process.
Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC), President Abdul Qayoom Wani condemned the director’s order and said Government has adopted a policy to harass employees by one or the other reason. “Why would Government officers who draw salaries from tax payers money stop people from meeting them for their genuine grievances,” Wani said.
Director Education, Mir Tariq Ali said it was impossible to meet people throughout the day due to a lot of work. “There are more than 1.25 lakh staff files with me and I have to see them, so I cannot meet visitors,” he said.
“I am not here to meet people, but sort out their matters which takes some time and people should understand that,” Ali said.
