Sir,
No one can remain unperturbed who are likely to fall in the list of the tax payers. Running from pillar to post, managing tax saving documents and consulting those conversant with tax-laws, is prominently watched among the employees during a financial year. Tax evasion, no doubt, is a moral and legal crime, but management for exemption isn’t felt otherwise. In this extreme materialism, verily, no one likes to part with even a coin. Moreover, in the era when corruption and all other tactics of amassing wealth are unsparingly exercised, expecting voluntariness for payment of such taxes, is a rare phenomenon. But since taxes strengthen our national economy and pushes the country in the globalised market, any effort for evasion of them is considered moral degradation on the part of any citizen.
Obviously, to overcome the situation, the masses need to be educated and explained the importance of the taxes, and the procedures, also need more simplification, approachability, motivation and facilitation in collection and filling of returns. If the taxes are honestly paid, poverty and backwardness still prevailing in our country can easily be removed.
Yours etc….
