JAMMU, Apr 13: The Minister of Education Naeem Akhtar and Minister of State for Education and Culture Priya Sethi convened a meeting regarding the future programme of DAV Public Secondary School Jawahar Nagar Srinagar with the Managing Committee members of the School.
The meeting was also attended by Commissioner Secretary Education and other officers. The Managing Committee apprised the Ministers of the damages and losses suffered by the School during last 26 years of turmoil and later during the floods in September last year which created havoc with the assets of the School.
The Managing Committee apprised the ministers of the misinformation campaign being launched by some unscrupulous elements within and outside the administration regarding the future course of this prestigious school. The management in clear terms conveyed to the ministers that the school will be taken to great heights and its lost glory will be restored to pre-migration period and the management sought the cooperation of Government in this task.
The two ministers assured the managing Committee of the full support and cooperation including adequate technical help in rebuilding the School.
The Managing Committee members were also informed that a detailed review will be taken in second week of May in Srinagar to rebuilt this School. The members of Management Committee who were present in the meeting included T K Ganjoo, Dr M K Mam, R K Kaul, P L Raina, Dr Anil and others.
