EDLWU’s concern over show cause notices to employees

JAMMU, Apr 6: All Jammu and Kashmir Electric Department Linemen and Workers’ Union today expressed grave concern over the show-cause notices served to some of the employees by the Chief Engineer, Electric Maintenance and RE Wing.
The issue came up for discussion during a meeting of the union held here today under the chairmanship of Tara Chand, vice-president of the union for Jammu province.
While addressing the participants, Tara Chand, said that the promotions were granted to the employees to Tech III on the basis of their seniority by respective DPCs conducted by the department and serving show-cause notices to such employees for sending reply as to why their promotions should not be withdrawn is surprising and heart hurting, as the employees have not managed their promotions on their own.
The union appealed the Chief Engineer to immediately withdraw the show-cause notices failing which the union will come on roads for agitation against the authorities and consequences thereof will be the responsibility of the Chief Engineer concerned.
Prominent among others present in the meeting were Girdhari Lal, Kartar Nath, Surinder Kumar, Paras Ram, Randhir Singh, Prem Kumar, Vijay Gupta, Ashiq Hussain etc.
