JAMMU, May 28: National Democratic Party Indian (NDPI) President, Rajesh Gupta slammed the Centre over its Rs 20 lakh crore economic package for various sectors saying it had nothing for the poor and middle class.
In a handout Gupta asked why there was no allocation to States, many of which were suffering from unprecedented financial crisis.
He claimed that there was no link between what the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi announced and the specifics explained by Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman.
“During COVID-19 crisis the BJP Government at Centre had not adopted humane approach to provide assistance to the poor, middle class and farmers,” NDPI leader maintained.
He further said that Government’s first priority should be to help the weakest sections of society.
Gupta urged upon the Government to provide Rs. 10,000 aid to the middle class families affected by the lockdown.
