Economic development, dignified life of people prime objective of Govt: Lone

MANASBAL, July 29: Minister for Higher Education, Mohammad Akbar Lone today urged upon the officers to work with compassion, sincerity and dedication while implementing developmental projects and welfare schemes launched by the Government so that deserving and needy people are benefited. He said economic development and dignified life of the people all across the State is the prime concern of the Government.
The Minister said this while addressing an Awami-Darbar convened to assess the pace and progress of the developmental works being executed in the Safapora area of Sonawari Constituency held at Manasbal here today.
District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Sarmad Hafiz, Chief Executive Officer Manasbal Development Authority, ADDC, Ganderbal, officers of PDD, PHE, R&B, Irrigation, Education and concerned departments besides, large number of public representatives and people were present on the occasion
The Minister directed the officers of PHE to speed up the pace of ongoing works and complete the process of interior distribution of water supply so that people of the area do not suffer for want of drinking water. He also enjoined upon the officers of R&B to take up the necessary process of road widening and repairs in well coordination with other departments.
While asking about the progress of projects being executed by Manasbal Development Authority, the Minister enjoined upon the authorities to expedite the work of its upgradation and development in stipulated time.
Mr. Lone stressed upon the officers of Rural Development Department to utilize the funds judiciously with transparency and adhere to the guidelines while implementing number of various welfare schemes launched by the Government so that needy and deserving populace is benefited. He also directed holding awareness camps in far flung areas regarding the rural development schemes so that maximum benefit reaches the deserving.
Mr. Lone directed ensuring serious care and random checking of Mid-day meals being provided to the school children and asked district administration to monitor it regularly. He also enjoined upon the officers of PDD to provide better services to the public and ensure smooth supply of electricity to them particularly during Ramzan month.
On the occasion various deputations called on the Minister and put forth different issues pertaining to them. The Minister gave patient hearing to all the deputations and assured them that all genuine problems will be looked into.
