JAMMU, Dec 19: Government today constituted an Empowered Committee for monitoring the construction of new Legislature Complex, Jammu and conducting review of the project periodically.
According to an order issued by the General Administration Department, the Committee comprises Brij Raj Sharma, Principal Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Tanveer Jehan, Commissioner Secretary, Public Works (R&B) Department and Ghulam Hassan Tantray, Secretary, Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
The Committee will ensure that the new Legislature Complex is constructed in a fool proof manner and adequate precautions are taken to safeguard the existing building.
According to another order, I A Hamal, Joint Development Commissioner (Works), Public Works Department will hold the charge of the post of Managing Director, JKPCC in addition to his own duties, till further orders.
Meanwhile, sources expressed surprise as to why General Manager, JKPCC Sayeed Naeem was left when entire top brass of JKPCC was transferred and directed to report to Public Works Department following collapse of part of historic Legislature Complex.
