JAMMU, Apr 14: The Election Commission of India has partially modified the scheme for Kashmiri migrants to vote in person at transitory camps and voting by means of postal ballot pertaining to the ongoing general elections to Lok Sabha.

As per the modified scheme, 22 special Polling Stations (21 in Jammu and one in Udhampur) are to be mapped to the Camps/ Zones individually ensuring that every Zone has at least one Polling Station.
A draft mapping based on the records available in the office of Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, J&K, has been done, and based on the same, Draft Electoral Roll Extract without photographs has been prepared for 21 Polling Stations of Jammu and one Polling Station of Udhampur.
Copies of these draft electoral roll extracts are available in the office of ARO Migrant Jammu, ARO Migrant Udhampur, Zone/ Camp Offices, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, J&K and also available on the website www.jkmigrantrelief.nic.in.
All the electors figuring in the draft electoral roll as well as those whose names do not figure in the draft electoral roll extracts, in case have any claims regarding omission of any eligible name in the draft lists, wishes to opt for voting through postal ballot or at the original polling station in Kashmir valley and those who have already submitted their Form-M, choosing a Special Polling Station which is different from the one allotted in the draft and wish to retain the same as per choice already given in Form-M can approach ARO Migrant Jammu and ARO Migrant Udhampur or their respective Zonal Officers (Nodal Officer)/BLO and file the claim/objection in writing within seven days of the publication of the notification, in the format annexed with the notification.
