JAMMU, June 13: Jammu and Kashmir administration today said it has successfully implemented e-Office by scanning and digitizing over 2 crore pages from 3.5 lakh files to ensure that no physical files were moved during Darbar Move.
“Scanning and digitizing ensured that no physical files were moved for the very first time when Darbar moved from Jammu to Srinagar,” an official statement by the Union Territory administration said.
It added that the Union Territory administration’s offices in the Civil Secretariat have completely switched over to e-office.
“Switching over to the e-office has obviated the requirement of physical movement of files/records from Jammu to Srinagar and vice versa,” the statement said.
Only yesterday, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir PK Pole had stated that Darbar Move this year has been deferred due to implementation of the e-office project of digitalizing the UT’s Civil Secretariat.
