‘J&K fast trekking on path of progress, peace’
Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, June 22: Lambasting the National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic party (PDP) leaders for their oft repeated statements that the democracy is in danger, BJP co convener, J&K, Ashish Sood today said that leaders of these parties are trying to hide their corruption under the guise that `democracy is in danger’.
In an exclusive interview to Excelsior, here, today Sood said out of 12 opposition parties meeting in Patna, Bihar tomorrow, leaders of two parties NC and PDP are from J&K. These parties are in great desperation as their leaders were knee deep involved in corrupt practices during their rule and are facing charges. He said, while Dr Abdullah is involved in J&K Cricket Association scam, Mehbooba Mufti is involved in banking scam, Congress is facing National Herald scam while Laloo Prasad Yadav is facing fodder scam (Chara Gotala) and his son Tejasvi Yadav is too involved in serious corrupt practices, Sood added.
The BJP leader said that NC and PDP leaders created their own fiefdom and asked when Modi Government launched many development projects and schemes in J&K why could not NC and PDP as well as Congress do that in their rule during last 70 years.
Making a dig at these parties for spreading canards against the Modi Government that democracy is in danger, he said was not democracy in danger when they boycotted Panchayat elections in the UT or denied the three tier elections to basic institutes of the democracy in the erstwhile State during their rule, he questioned.
He said opposition parties meeting tomorrow in Patna are either dynastic parties or are those who are involved in corruption. The Muftis and Abdullas are joining their bandwagon to save their skin. He said the people of J&K can’t be misled by these parties any more now as they have seen through their game plan over the decades and they (people) have resolved to fight against the corrupt parties under the leadership of Narendra Modi. These parties are trying to hide their corruption under the garb of `democracy is under threat’, Sood added.
He also ridiculed these leaders for their sudden love of holy Amarnathji yatra saying that why did not they took on Pakistan and separatists who threatened the yatris earlier and targeted them. They even did not speak when five lakh minorities were forced to leave Kashmir. But now the leaders of the two parties have developed sudden love for Amarnath Ji yatra, he added.
Sood said Amarnath Ji yatra is being run from times immemorial and common people of Kashmir were associated with this yatra as their livelihood was linked to it. He said instead of condemning Pakistan and terrorists openly for attacking yatra or forcing five lakh minorities to leave Valley these parties were criticising the Central Government only. They did not talk about the plight of migrants or apologized for the mass exodus of Hindus from Valley.
