JAMMU: Reiterating government’s commitment of reaching out to the people across the state with enhanced amenities and prompt service delivery, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh today said that unprecedented development has been registered in every sector.
Dr Nirmal Singh said this while interacting with the people after kick starting construction work of main Krishna Nagar nallah from Guru Ravi Dass Temple through GGM Science college.
The construction work of 450 meter nallah would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 404.11 lakh which is being executed by Urban Environmental Engineering Department under the supervision of JMC.
The construction of nallah will deal with the water logging during the monsoon near GGM Science College and its surrounding areas.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said the upcoming project was a long cherished demand of the local people. He said there is no constraint of funds as the central government has provided liberal funding to the State Government for completing the ongoing projects in a time bound manner.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed the executing agencies to ensure that the project undertaken is completed within the stipulated time frame and stressed for ensuring that the quality of works is not compromised.
Among others, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, M Raju, Additional District Development Commissioner Anuradha Gupta, Executive Engineer UEED besides other senior officers of JMC ,Housing and Urban development Department and concerned departments were present on the occasion.
