Dy Chairman LC, Bhim Singh, VC SKUAST-K, Comdt MH call on Governor

JAMMU, Dec 20: Javed Rana, Deputy Chairman, Legislative Council, called on N. N. Vohra, the Governor at Raj Bhavan today. This was his first meeting with the Governor after being elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council. Mr. Rana briefed the Governor about various matters relating to the functioning of the Legislative Council. He also requested the Governor for a Gojri and Pahari Research Centre being set up in the Jammu University. Professor Bhim Singh, chief patron, National Panthers Party, called on Mr Vohra and discussed with him various issues related to the development of the State and matters relating to the larger benefit of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Dr. Tej Pratap, Vice Chancellor, Sher-i-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and Technologies-Kashmir also called on Mr Vohra, who is Chancellor of the University. Dr. Tej Pratap briefed the Chancellor about his recent visit to China and about the to date progress achieved to set up a Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Nyoma. He also informed about the work being done at Changthang in regard to the development of pastures. He also briefed the Governor about the ongoing research, academic and extracurricular activities in the University and about various steps being taken to enhance the infrastructure in the University. Brigadier M. M. Harjai, Commandant Military Hospital Jammu, also called on Mr Vohra and invited him to participate in the 250th Anniversary Celebrations of the Military Hospital. He also briefed the Governor about the new facilities and technologies being introduced to further enhance the patient care in the Military Hospital, Jammu.
