Durganagar residents seek LG’s intervention in settling demands

JAMMU, June 15: A meeting of Durganagar Welfare Committees Sector-1, Sector-2 and Sector-3 and adjoining areas was held under the chairmanship of Roshan Lal Raina president, Sector-1 and Sector-3 and Sanjay Ganjoo president Sector-2 and its extension.
The meeting expressed grave concern over unscheduled power cuts in addition to scheduled cuts and water scarcity in the area.
It, while highlighting demands stressed on premixing of roads, lanes, bi-lanes and starting of tile work of lanes and bi-lanes.
It also demanded sanction of JDA land at Rajinder Nagar for construction of new OHT and Tubewell.
The meeting said entire Durganagar which is facing unscheduled power cuts has resulted into a growing public resentment. The meeting said that despite paying huge power bills the Department has totally failed to maintain round the clock power supply.
It demanded that Feeder Number RN2 and RN6 are too much overloaded that anytime transformers can get damaged or newly installed rubber cables become ruptured at any point and the entire area has to suffer due to negligence of PDD. The meeting sought intervention of LG and urged him to issue directives to the concerned so that residents have not to suffer more.
It further said entire area of Durganagar is facing acute water crises in these hot Summer days. There is gap of 5-6 days in water supply and every time the people are being assured that they will get water on alternate basis.
The meeting was attended by Bihari Lal Raina, general secretary, C.L.Zutshi, Badri Nath, Bansi Lal Pandita, Bushan Lal Koul, Bharat Bushan Gosani, R.L.Koul and A.K.Koul from Sector-01 and Ramesh Pandit (general secretary),Jawahir Lal Raina, Satish Kissu, Mahraj Krishan Raina, .Durga Nath Koul, Ravinder Bhan, Sunil Raina, Dilip Handoo, V.N.Raina and Shadil Lal Koul from Sector-2.
