JAMMU, Aug 16: A meeting of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee was held here under the chairmanship of Roshan Lal Raina president of the Committee in which grave concern was expressed over failure of Government to run the electric bus to Durga Nagar.
It said the bus was meant for Durga Nagar as the Committee had taken up the issue with authorities and it was a long pending demand of the people of the area. The same was agreed in principle by the concerned authorities also and a news was also published in daily news papers in this regard too. But it is surprising that instead of Durga Nagar bus has been given Bantalab route and Durga Nagar area having a 24 feet wide road has been totally neglected.
The meeting made an appeal to Advisor in charge Transport, Commissioner Secretary Transport to look into the matter immediately and settle the grievances of the people.
The meeting also expressed concern over the water scarcity being faced by people of some lanes in Durga Nagar and said despite repeated pleas the concerned authorities failed to solve the problem. He made an appeal to PHE Chief Engineer in this regard and urged him to look into the matter.
