JAMMU, Apr 1: The Durga Nagar Welfare Committee led by its president, Roshan Lal Raina has submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi via email highlighting the demands of the displaced Pandits.
The memorandum demanded enhancement of cash relief to Rs 20,000, release of funds for developmental activities in migrant camps and non camp localities inhabited by displaced people from Valley, increase of CAP budget from Rs 12 crore to Rs 50 crore, construction of 1000 migrant quarters in Jammu , release of pending ex-gratia of gutted and damaged houses, protection of property from encroachments, compensation of property loss over the 30 years, construction of community hall at Durga Nagar, Passage of Temples Bill, reservation of five assembly and two Parliament sets for the community, early scrutinizing of pending registration forms of the community and sanctioning of more 6000 posts under PM package.
Later the Committee led by R L Raina and comprising of C L Zutshi, Bansi Lal, Badri Nath, Nana Ji, Ravinder Bakshi, Roshan Lal Koul, Mahraj Krishan Raina, Makhan Lal Bhat, Bushan Lal and others met Chief Engineer PHE Jammu and apprised him of water scarcity problem being faced by people in Durga Nagar. The CE assured redressal of the problem.
