JAMMU, July 29: A meeting of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee was held under the chairmanship of Roshan Lal Raina in which various issues concerning the people of the area as well as migrant Kashmiri Pandits were highlighted.
As per a release, the meeting made an appeal to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Lt Governor, G C Murmu that the Ayushman Bharat scheme be also extended to displaced Pandits. Besides, a scheme be launched for thee displaced Pandits who have left their agriculture land in Valley and have been deprived of its produce during last over three decades. These people be given the benefits of the agriculture schemes also and ways and means be created so that they can visit their ancestral places in the Valley to cultivate their land.
The meeting also demanded enhancement of relief and made an appeal to Prime Minister and Home Minister in this regard as the cost of essential commodities has increased. It also demanded a special package for migrants and issuance of orders for 52 waiting list teachers and 28 statistical assistants.
The meeting was attended by Bihari Lal, C L Zutshi, R L Koul, Badri Nath, Nana Ji, Bansi Lal and others.
