JAMMU, Mar 3: A meeting of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee was held today under the chairmanship of its president, Roshan Lal Raina in which various problems including prolonging gap in water supply was discussed.
The meeting demanding plugging of the leakages in water supply pipes at Matador Stand , near LIC shop and in Sector 2 and Sector 3 to ensure proper water supply in the area so that wastage of water is overcome.
It demanded immediate laying of pipes in Khatri Mohalla, Kachi Gali Lane and main road lane. It expressed concern over the failure of PHE Department to identify 10 marlas of land for construction of tube well in Durga Nagar. It further demanded plying of magic autos in the area and opening of dispensary in Durga Nagar, besides filling up of remaining posts under PM package for migrants and release of waiting list of teachers and statistical assistants as the candidates have turned over age now.
It sought immediate intervention of Lt Governor, G C Murmu in this regard and demanded enhancement of cash relief to the migrants and installation of water cooler at Durga Nagar Camp School. It also expressed concern over diversion of electric bus service meant for Durga Nagar by GM SRTC. It complimented the corporator of Ward 64 Kapil Singh for taking various initiatives for the development of the Ward.
