Durga Nagar Committee delegation calls on Advisor Sharma

JAMMU, Oct 17: A deputation of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee led by its president Roshan Lal Raina today called on Advisor to Governor, K K Sharma and submitted a memorandum of demands to him.
The memorandum demanded premixing of road in Tanki Lane and allotment of works already tendered, adoption of Ayushman Bharat Scheme for migrants, reducing water supply gap, segregation of R-2 Feeder at Roop Nagar which is overloaded, running of electric bus from Indira Chowk to Durga Nagar and surrounding areas, installation of electric lights by replacing damaged lamps, enhancement of relief assistance for migrants, providing relief assistance in time to the migrants and issuance of two 100 kv transformers one for Durga Mandir Lane and another for Kabir Chowk . Papers along with estimates have been already submitted to the Commissioner cum Secretary PDD in this regard, the delegation informed the Advisor.
The Advisor after hearing the demands assured the delegation that concerned departments would be issued directives for taking immediate action in resolving the problems. He gave on spot instructions to CE, PHE for construction of new tube well at source for augmenting the water supply to Durga Nagar and urged him that the gap of water supply should be reduced immediately.
The Advisor also issued instructions to PDD authorities to provide regular power supply to Muthi village feeders and providing of electric poles for Kailashpati Lane Durga Nagar where electric line is being carried on telephone poles which is unjustified. He urged the Chief Engineer, PDD to issue poles immediately and segregate the R-2 Feeder as demanded by the people.
The Advisor was also requested by the delegation that the pending list of PM package and pending waiting list of teachers of district Pulwama be released and orders be issued immediately. The delegation also demanded issuance of directives to Relief authorities for providing income certificates to those migrants who come under lower income group so that they can get benefits under 10 percent reservation granted by Government for economically weaker sections among upper castes.
The other members of delegation included Behari Lal, C L Zutshi, Badri Nath, Nana Ji, Kaka Ji and Bharat Bushan.
