JAMMU, Apr 24: Constru-ction Workers Labour Union, affiliated with CITU has served a legal notice to General Manager, Dulhasti Power Station (NHPC) to reinstate terminated contractual workers within 15 days failing which the Union along with all contractual workers will go on strike from May 5.
In a statement issued here Om Parkash, general secretary, State CITU said that two poor contractual workers who have been working for a long time were thrown out of job on April Ist illegally without giving any statutory notice by the contractor. He added that Union submitted its petition to the principal employer who is duty bound to regulate service conditions of contract workers and also to the contractor for re-employment of poor workers but all in vain and the Union also draw attention of General Manager towards meeting which was held with him earlier wherein it was decided that henceforth no such termination made in future.
In view of the above, State Committee urged upon the employer to re-employ/reinstate poor worker before May 5, 2017 for the sake of industrial harmony, or get ready to face the wrath of workers.
