Dubai-J&K narco & terror links

The State Investigation Agency (SIA) has uncovered a significant Dubai connection in the illicit funding of terrorism in the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, spanning from Pakistan to Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). Substantial evidence against two individuals from Poonch who are currently operating from Dubai and are the masterminds behind terror financing and narcotics smuggling in Jammu and Kashmir have been collected. It is imperative to recognise that the sustenance of any terrorist network hinges on the availability of substantial financial resources. Law enforcement agencies have diligently focused on this critical aspect, in conjunction with the meticulous collection of local intelligence. In the digital era, monitoring financial transactions has become a less formidable challenge. Once a target is under surveillance, tracking international travel becomes a manageable task, laying bare the underpinnings of the terror network. The commendable efforts of the UT police in dismantling this network deserve unreserved accolades.
Rajouri and Poonch once declared terrorism-free districts, have regrettably re-emerged as focal points for terrorist activities, with some notable incidents. The ramifications of this exposed terror network have extended across borders, spanning from Pakistan to PoJK on one side and encompassing Poonch, Rajouri and South Kashmir on the other. The UT police have delivered the pertinent evidence to the Union Government to secure the extradition of the two individuals from the UAE. Once in the custody of the UT police, these individuals have the potential to divulge a wealth of information, enabling law enforcement to dismantle numerous other such modules. This revelation underscores the critical importance of rigorous monitoring of local individuals working abroad. Pakistan’s ISI is renowned for its innovative support of terrorism, and, as such, our agencies must adopt a proactive and vigilant stance to thwart the sinister designs of the ISI. Frustrated, Pakistan will explore every possible way to revive terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Our agencies cannot put their vigil down.
